
In a recent study, 186 four-year-olds were given regular carrots, and at another meal, they were given "X-ray Vision Carrots" - the same vegetable, only renamed. Believe it or not, when they were eating the carrots with a clever nickname, they ate nearly twice as many!
So, let's suppose this little trick works at your house. How many servings of "Super Sonic Squash" should you encourage your child to eat? Allison Morrow, a registered dietitian at Children's, says school-aged kids should aim for 3 - 5 servings each day.
